SIDE BY SIDE
is a collaboration of nine different sheltered workshops,
based around Germany, for the intellectually and physically
disabled. Their mission: to combine good design with
practical, everyday objects whilst also providing meaningful
employment for their charges. Commissioning the ideas &
talent of bright, young designers they have developed a well
resolved range of useful products that epitomise pure
simplicity, a pared backed aesthetic & high quality. Their
success is to be seen in the beautifully executed result.

Traditionally known as a book-slide this is the perfectly useful piece for propping up a collection of books anywhere one chooses; in the home or office: desk top, bench top, special reading spot… skillfully crafted by the Side by Side workshop to fold flat, unfold
& be adjustable - extending right up to 55cm; it is made from untreated maple.
