DESIGNER EMULATION KIT (DEK)

The Designer Emulation Kits are meant as the sincerest homage to some of the greatest modern designers of our time. The lamps and designers being ‘emulated’ have a particular importance in the history of (lighting) design.

DEK #1 pays homage to Ingo Maurer's Lucellino , one of the most celebrated lighting products in history.
DEK #2 is based on the well known, revered classic Arco by Achille Castiglioni.
DEK #3 takes the form of the famous Tizio by Richard Sapper.
DEK #4 returns to Castiglioni for inspiration and emulates his celebrated Toio .
DEK #5 is Philippe Stark's contemporary star Miss K - the first DEK to have its own diffusing shade, just like its muse.

Each kit is made of separate parts, which are snapped off, fitted together, and plugged into a nine-volt battery (not included), resulting in a miniature classic.

LIZARD LIGHT SCULPTURE

This extraordinary piece is an utterly original idea: its purpose - to enhance the appearance of the ugly, but extremely energy efficient, fluorescent tube light that we see used in commercial spaces & to transform it into something one would use in a smart, creative home or office environment. The images above show just how appealing a look this can be, when the 65 cm long lizard is fixed on (by a very simple process) & then appears to cling very naturally to the tube light (size: arbitrary, but should be longer than lizard).

KATE - L LAMP

Kate – L is a very leggy lamp as her name suggests… And while playing on the notion of positive & negative space she employs the illusion of perhaps being more than what appears to be – her sinuous 2D body is in fact a cut-out shape! But her lamp ‘head’ is 3D & does actually light up subtly… The whole comprises the most minimally sexy upright lamp we have ever chanced upon.

KATE - M & KATE - S LAMPS

Kate – M & Kate – S are of course directly related to their predecessor above… but while being considerably shorter in stature they compensate by possessing the special additional feature of an extended (120mm) ‘rest’ - for placing everyday essential items…  The perfect eye catcher – literally – for an entrance!
